Overview

This chapter describes the most common components included with your chassis.
Some components listed may not be included or may not be compatible with your
particular chassis model. For more information, see the installation instructions
detailed later in this manual.

Components

Chassis

The SC825 chassis includes eight hard drive bays. Hard drives must be purchased
separately. For the latest model list, visit our website at: www.supermicro.com.
This chassis supports a 2U 8-bay backplane, three fans and one or two power
supplies.

Backplane

Each SC825 chassis comes with a 2U SAS/SATA backplane. For more information
regarding compatible backplanes, view the appendices found at the end of this man-
ual. In addition, visit our website for the latest information at www.supermicro.com.

Fans

The SC825 chassis supports three system fans. System fans for SC825 chassis
are powered from the motherboard. These fans are 2U high and are powered by
4-pin connectors.

Mounting Rails

The SC825 can be placed in a rack for secure storage and use. To setup your rack,
follow the step-by-step instructions included in this manual.
