Con la lunghezza del punto "4", cucire delle linee distanti
1 cm l'una dall'altra, lungo l'area da ricamare.
Annodare i fili lungo un bordo. Tirare i fili della spoletta e
distribuire le increspature uniformemente.
Fissare i fili all'altra estremità.
Cucire il motivo decorativo tra i punti dell'increspatura.
Togliere i punti di increspatura.

Applicazioni decorative

Imbastire (o applicare con ferro da stiro) i pezzi da attaccare
alla stoffa. Cucire intorno all'applicazione assicurandosi che
l'ago scenda lungo il bordo esterno dell'applicazione.
Quando si cuciono gli angoli, abbassare l'angolo nel tessuto.
Sollevare il piedino e ruotare il tessuto a destra o a sinistra.

Smocking

With the stitch length at "4", sew straight stitching lines 3/8˝
(1 cm) apart, across the area to be smocked.
Knot the threads along one edge. Pull the bobbin threads
and distribute the gathers evenly.
Secure the threads at the other end.
Sew the decorative stitch between the gathering stitches.
Pull out the gathering stitches.

Applique

Baste (or fuse with iron-on fabric joiner) applique pieces on
the fabric. Stitch around the applique making sure the
needle falls along the outer edge of the applique.
When sewing corners, lower the needle down into the fabric.
Raise the presser foot and pivot fabric to the right or left.
