6.1 Maintenance Schedule

The PacRac+ requires regular maintenance. Set up and follow a
maintenance schedule. The table at right represents minimum
intervals for maintenance.
Keep maintenance records. A sample maintenance record sheet is
provided on page 27.
When using maintenance products, follow the manufacturers'
directions and read the manufacturers' material safety data sheets.
You can purchase a recommended disinfectant from your Ferno
distributor or Ferno Customer Relations (page 2).

6.2 Disinfecting the Straps

1.
Remove the straps from the PacRac+.
2.
Spray the metal buckles and tangs with a disinfectant cleaner,
following the disinfectant manufacturer's instructions for
application method and contact time. Do not immerse the
buckles or tangs in liquid.
3.
Hang the straps to air-dry if needed. Attach only dry straps to
the PacRac+.

6.3 Cleaning the Straps

1.
Immerse the strap webbing in a solution of mild soap and
water. Do not immerse the buckles or tangs in the solution.
2.
Repeatedly dip the webbing in clear water to rinse. Do not
immerse buckles or tangs in liquid.
3.
Hang the straps to air-dry. Dry out of direct sunlight. Attach
only clean, dry straps to the PacRac+.

6.4 Disinfecting the PacRac+

Wipe all surfaces with disinfectant. Follow the disinfectant
manufacturer's instructions for application method and contact
time. Ferno recommends you inspect the PacRac+ for damage as you
disinfect it.

6.5 Cleaning the PacRac+

1.
Remove the straps and any accessories.
2.
Hand clean all surfaces of the PacRac+ with warm water and a
mild detergent.
3.
Rinse with warm, clear water. Dry the PacRac+ with a towel or
allow it to air-dry.

Disinfectants and cleaners containing bleach, phenolics,
iodines, or petroleum can cause damage. Do not use
products containing these chemicals.
Using abrasive cleaning compounds or applicators on the
PacRac+ can cause damage. Do not use abrasive materials to
clean the PacRac+.
