5.8 Patient Transfer

The PacRac+ may remain attached to the cot or iN∫X when transferring
a patient onto or off from the cot or iN∫X. Follow your local protocols
for patient transfer. When the PacRac+ is attached to the cot or iN∫X:
1.
Determine which side of the cot or iN∫X will be used to transfer
the patient onto or off from the cot or iN∫X. Move, rearrange, or
remove any equipment from the PacRac+ that could interfere
with the patient transfer.
Unlock ONLY one PacRac+ side frame by pressing the yellow

secondary catch (Figure 42). Pivot the red release handle 90° to
the unlocked position.

Rotate the PacRac+ side frame 180° to position it out of the way
of the patient (Figure 43).
4.
Follow your local medical protocols for patient transfer. Move
the patient onto or off the cot or iN∫X using the open side of
the cot or iN∫X.
5.
Return the PacRac+ side frame to the locked position when the
transfer is complete (Figure 44).

Using the PacRac+
Unlocking both sides of the PacRac+ can cause injury.
Unlock ONLY one PacRac+ side frame at a time. Use the
PacRac+ only for the purpose described in this manual.
