6.3.6 Installing The Repeater
Be sure the wall material can hold the weight of the repeater. Never install a
repeater in damaged or decaying wall material.
1. Hold the repeater in its final location, and mark the location of one of the two wall slots along the
top of the repeater.
2. From that mark, measure down approximately 1-1/2 inches (about 38mm), and mark the screw
location.
3. Measure over 2-3/8th inches (about 60mm) and mark the second screw location.
4. At the screw location, use a 3/16ths drill bit to make a pilot hole approximately one inch deep.
5. Place the wall anchor into the pilot hole and tap it gently with a hammer until the anchor is flush
with the wall.
6. Insert the mounting screw into the anchor, leaving approximately 1/4 inch space between the
screw head and the wall.
7. Repeat steps 4~6 for the second mounting screw.
8. Place the repeater over the screw heads and slide it down into place.
9. Connect the repeater to the 120 V AC power outlet.

6.3.8 Maintenance
For user maintenance of the repeater, refer to the Cordless DECT Repeater Guide DTL-RPT-2.
6.4 Install the DTZ-8R-1 CORDLESS DECT Telephone
The DTZ-8R-1 is a cordless telephone that is adapted for NEC SL2100 System. It is designed for use
in the office environment. When the phone is connected to the SL2100, it must have a SL2100
expansion board inside the base station.
• A handset and wired phone cannot be used at the same time.
• The handset and base station must have the original ID that is written on
each unit at the factory.
• Some digital PBX expansion boards require a wired telephone to make the call.
