REFERENCE SETTING

In the solid-state NMR, the reference cannot be corrected by using the lock signal as in
the solution NMR. Therefore, the reference is set up using the spectrum of an exter-
nal-reference sample. There are two methods for setting the reference: setting in the Delta
and setting using the Z0 shim.
3.6.1

External Reference Setting

1.
Prepare the spectrum with the external-reference substance, and carry out
the reference setting.
2.
In the Delta Console window, select Tools-Geometry Tools-Copy Ruler
Reference.
The Copy Ruler Reference window opens.

First, click the Source button, and select the spectrum with the external ref-
erence. Next, click the Target button, and select the spectrum on which you
want to set the reference.
Hidden buttons, such as X, appear.
4.
Click an axis to set the reference.
The reference is set up.
