Identifier-related diagnostics

Definition
The identifier-related diagnostics specifies the slots of the bus link for which diagnostics data
is available.
Definitions of slave, module, and slot
A slave is a bus node that is addressed using its own bus address. It can consist physically or
logically of one or more modules. The slaves and their modules are mapped onto virtual slots
in the identifier-related diagnostics.
● A non-modular slave always occupies two slots.
The first slot represents a "virtual head module" and the second a "virtual module".
● A modular slave consisting of x modules occupies (x+1) slots.
The first three slots are assigned to the bus link. The following slots are assigned to the
individual modules in ascending order.
● The field device couplers in the following figure are virtual modules integrated in the
Compact FF Link.
