Wheels and Hubs - The bearings in both hubs (on the Idler axle only) should be greased every 12 months using a
multipurpose grease. They should also be greased before any long period of storage. The grease zerk is located on the
back side of each hub (Fig 59).
Bed Rest Pivot Bushings - The bushings in each strut to pivot the Bed Rest Frame should be greased once a month.
Recommend using a multipurpose grease They should also be greased before any long period of storage (Fig 60).
Ball Hitch - Use spray lithium grease as needed.
Tires - Check tire pressure weekly or if tire(s) look low. If low, fill to 3 - 5 psi before using trailer. If tire(s) are cracked or
chunks of rubber are missing, replace tire before using trailer.
Lug Nuts - Check lug nuts for tightness on a new trailer or when wheel(s) have been remounted after the
first 10, 25 and 50 miles of use. Tighten lug nuts before each use.
Tail/Brake Lights - Check tail/brake lights for proper functioning before each use. Replace burned out light bulbs before
using trailer.
Electric Brakes - Check electric brakes (if applicable) for proper functioning by operating the brake controller
on the tow vehicle before each use. Repair brakes if not functioning properly before using trailer.
Trailer cleaning - Use mild dish soap and water for routine cleaning. If using to haul manure, clean after every use. Do
NOT store manure in trailer bed.
