Options and Drives
This chapter describes how to install and remove optional drives and board options in your
computer. You can use these instructions to install and remove a variety of devices and board
options. Although your board options and drives may look a bit different from the ones illustrated
here, you can install and remove it the same way. See Chapter 5 for removing and replacing the
cover.
NOTE
Turn off the computer. Then disconnect the computer from its power source and from any
telecommunications links, networks, or modems before performing any of the procedures described
in this chapter.

Installing an Expansion Card

This section explains how to install an expansion card in your computer. Your computer has two
32-bit PCI and two 16-bit ISA bus connectors. You can use a total of three expansion slots as one
PCI connector and one ISA connector share a single expansion slot.
Follow these steps to install an expansion card:
1. Remove the system cover according to the instructions in "Removing the Cover" in Chapter 5.
2. Insert a flat blade screwdriver into a hole of the slot cover you wish to remove.
