Warning and control
Safe Exit Assist warns and controls with
the following actions.
Collision warning when exiting
vehicle

A: Watch for traffic
僅 The warning light on the side view
mirror will blink and the warning mes-
sage will appear on the cluster, and an
audible warning will sound.
僅 Safe Exit Assist will warn under the
following circumstances:
- Your vehicle speed: below 3 km/h
(2 mph)
- The speed of the approaching vehi-
cle from the rear: above 6 km/h (4
mph)

Safe Exit Assist linked with Elec-
tronic child safety lock

A: Check surroundings then try again
僅 When Electric child safety lock is oper-
ating and an approaching vehicle
from the rear area is detected, the
rear doors cannot be unlocked even if
the driver tries to unlock the rear
doors using the electronic child safety
lock button. The warning light on the
outside rearview mirror will blink and
the warning message will appear on
the cluster.
僅 Safe Exit Assist will warn under the
following circumstances:
- Your vehicle speed: below 3 km/h
(2 mph)
- The speed of the approaching vehi-
cle from the rear: above 6 km/h (4
mph)
CAUTION
If the driver presses the electronic child
lock button ( ) again within 10 seconds
after the warning message appears,
Safe Exit Assist judges that the driver
has unlocked the door and the door will
open regardless of vehicles approach-
ing. The electronic child safety lock will
turn off (button indicator OFF). Always
check the surroundings before turning
off the electronic child safety lock but-
ton.
Safe Exit Assist (SEA)
