3.1.2 GDU 1040A

In certain VLJ configurations, each 1040A is configured as a PFD that features a 10.4-inch LCD
with 1024 x 768 resolution. The 1040A installed on the left/pilot side is designated as PFD1,
and the one installed on the right/copilot side is designated as PFD2. These units communicate
with each other, the MFD (GDU 1500), and with the on-side GIA 63W Integrated Avionics Unit
through a High-Speed Data Bus (HSDB) connection.

3.1.3 GDU 1240A

In certain VLJ configurations three GDU 1240As are utilized. Each unit is configured as one of
two PFDs or one MFD. The GDU 1240A features a 12-inch LCD with 1024 x 768 resolution.
The unit installed on the left/pilot side is designated as PFD1, and the one installed on the
right/copilot side is designated as PFD2. The unit installed in the center is designated the MFD.
These units communicate with each other and with the on-side GIA 63W Integrated Avionics
Unit through a High-Speed Data Bus (HSDB) connection. These units communicate with each
