Section 1: No Power - Pride J6 with NE Electronics Technical Troubleshooting Manual

SECTION 1 - NO POWER
Symptoms:
The batteries are fully charged.
All electrical components are connected correctly.
The power does not turn on when the on/off key is
pressed.
The power does not turn on when the on/off mode select
lever is deflected on the Q-Logic joystick module (1).
Diagnosis:
The power has been interrupted somewhere in the system.
NOTE: The battery/circuit breaker harness (11) connects
the circuit breaker directly to the batteries. If this harness is
NOT CONNECTED TO THE POSITIVE TERMINAL OF
ONE BATTERY AND THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL OF
THE OTHER BATTERY, THE POWER CHAIR WILL
NOT POWER UP AND THE CIRCUIT BREAKER (11c)
WILL TRIP. Ensure the harness is correctly connected and
the circuit breaker (11c) is not tripped before proceeding.
Solution:
Use the following procedure to find the source of the inter-
ruption:
1. Measure voltage across pin 1 (B+) and pin 2 (B-) of
connector 1a. See figure 2 and diagram 5 or 6.
— If the multimeter indicates about 25VDC (with correct
polarity), then replace the NE, NE+, or Q-Logic joystick
module (1) and retest the system.
— If the multimeter indicates less than 18VDC but greater
than 0VDC, then recharge the batteries and retest the
system.
— If the multimeter indicates 0VDC, then go to the next
step.
2. Remove the seat. Refer to the power base owner's
manual.
3. Remove the rear and center shrouds. See figure 3.
4. Unplug connector 10a from connector 5b. See diagram
3 or 4.
5. Measure voltage across pin 1 and pin 2 on connector
10a. See figure 4.
— If the multimeter indicates 0VDC, then go to the next step.
— If the multimeter indicates greater than 0VDC, then go
to step 9.
