4. Plug one end of the Cat 5e cable into the unit's remote I/O port. Plug the
other end of the Cat 5e cable into the KVM switch.
5. (Optional) To use an RS-232 console, connect a RS-232 touch panel or
mouse into the unit's RS-232 port at the rear; then connect the unit's RS-
232 port at the front to the local computer.
6. (Optional) To use a 2XRT-0015G, connect it to the unit's PS/2 control port
or the RJ-11 control port + USB bus power.
7. Plug the power adapter (supplied with this package) into an AC power
source; plug the adapter's power cable into the unit's power jack.
8. Power on the local PC.
Hot Plugging
KVM Adapter Module with Local Console supports hot plugging —
components can be removed and added back into the installation by
unplugging and replugging cables from the ports without the need to shut the
unit down.
