Important information
• The solar panel's power output varies depending on the season and on the length
and strength of the received sunlight. During extended periods of weather without
sufficient sunlight (especially in winter), it is possible that the rechargeable
battery's charge state is sufficient to light the product for a brief time only. This is
because the rechargeable battery charges less energy during the day than the light
uses at night, which inevitably shortens light "ON" time. This can discharge the
rechargeable battery completely over time and thus damage it. Therefore, turn off
the product in due time (switch to OFF).
• Keep the solar panel clean. Dust and dirt reduce the solar cell's performance as the
charging current to the rechargeable battery is reduced.
• Cold temperatures also have a negative impact on the rechargeable battery's
operating time (reduced LED "ON" time at night). In order to prolong the product's
service life, we recommend storing the product during the winter months (or for
extended periods of disuse) in a dry, warm space. Turn the product off while it is in
storage (switch to OFF).
• Before storing the product, you may remove the rechargeable battery and charge it
using a suitable charging device. Read all pertinent information included in this user
manual on removing/replacing the rechargeable battery.
Removing/changing the rechargeable battery
Replace the rechargeable battery as soon as the light "ON" time reduces
noticeably even though the battery charged sufficiently during daylight
hours.
We recommend replacing the rechargeable battery after a maximum of 500
charging cycles.
Make sure that no moisture enters the interior of the light head when
replacing the battery.
• Turn the spherical cover of the lamp head anti-clockwise and remove this cover.
• Turn the light off (switch to OFF).
• Loosen the 2 screws on the edge of the circuit board using a Phillips screwdriver.
• Remove the circuit board. Do not touch the solar panel while doing so. The
rechargeable battery is located on the bottom of the circuit board.
• Remove the rechargeable battery and replace it with an identical one (see Technical
Data). Heed correct polarity.
• Reverse these steps to reassemble the product.

Maintenance and cleaning

• Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions, as such would
damage the housing (discolorations).
• Never point a water jet, for example such of high-pressure cleaning equipment, at
the lamp, as that could damage the seals!
• Besides occasional cleaning, the device is maintenance-free.
• Turn off the product and let it cool down sufficiently before cleaning.
• Use a clean, soft and dry cloth to clean the housing. For more stubborn dirt, slightly
moisten the cloth with a little lukewarm water.
• Do not apply too much force when cleaning the housing or light emitting aperture in
order to avoid scratching.
• If necessary, remove any dust from the solar panel, as the charging current could
otherwise decrease.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the
household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the
relevant statutory regulations.
Remove the rechargeable battery and dispose of it separately from the
product.
b) Rechargeable batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used
rechargeable batteries. Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited.
Contaminated rechargeable batteries are labelled with this symbol to
indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations
for the heavy metals involved are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead
(name on rechargeable batteries, e.g. below the trash icon on the left).
Used rechargeable batteries can be returned to collection points in your
municipality, our stores or wherever rechargeable batteries are sold.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the
environment.
