Optional: +24V battery connectivity
External batteries provides DC voltage at 10A to the equipment. Comba recommends sealed lead-
acid batteries to be used. DC connection is made with wires constructed on-site, wires of AVR

2.0mm
are used, select red for '+' and black for the '-' connection.
Take red and black wires from the terminals within the chassis; feed them through the cable gland to
the battery pack.
+24V is derived by two 12V battery cells connected in series, connect the red and black wires to the
battery terminals securely and then tighten the cable gland.
Optional: -48V telecommunication equipment voltage connectivity
Connect the blue wire to -48V and black wire to 0V of the "PSU Battery" power connection within the
equipment.
RF signal connection
Connection of feeder cables are as below:
Master
This is a frequency-shifting transmission
-unit
port, for connection to link antenna.
Remote
This is a user-end RF port, for connection
-unit
to the antenna towards the cellular device.
Wireless modem antenna connection
If remote monitoring is to be used, then ensure the GSM wireless modem antenna is connected to
this connector.
Li-ion battery connection
The lithium-ion battery-pack provides back-up supply to the MCU board, an in-line connector close
to the battery pack is 'disconnected' before shipping. During installation, re-connect the in-line
connector to ensure proper function of the MCU.
OMT connection for commission and local management
This cable is supplied with the equipment, it connects between the serial port of the PC to the 'RS-
232 inerface " on the board within the chassis.
Note: break the Li-ion battery connection temporarily before making the OMT connection.
Caution: Be careful of the risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of
used batteries according to the instructions.
