The by-pass damper should be in the "CLOSED" position when the doors are closed and proper chimney draw is
established.
Place the by-pass damper
on the supports at the rear
and sides of the firebox.
BY-PASS IN "OPEN" POSITION

Place the side and rear firebricks against the wall.
For easy start up open the by-pass damper.
