5-7. Adjusting the ND Offset

The white balance may be slightly deviated in the ND filters. In such cases, adjust the offset. Taking the
ND1 white balance as the reference, the ND offset stores the deviation of the white balance of ND:2, 3,
and 4.
Adjusting the ND Offset
(1) Connect the waveform monitor to MONITOR OUT connector of this unit.
(2) Select ND4 filter, and shoot the gray scale. Check that the illuminant condition if the video level is
within 560 mV thru. 630 mV. Then note the video level at this time.

Do not adjust the ND offset if the video level is less than 560 mV.
(3) Select ND:1, and set the iris so that the video level is the same level as the noted video level.
(4) Execute the auto white balance.
(5) Set ND:2, and set the iris to meet the noted video level of Step 2.
(6) Execute the auto white balance.
(7) Set ND:3, and set the iris to meet the noted video level of Step 2.
(8) Execute the auto white balance.
(9) Set ND:4, and set the iris to meet the noted video level of Step 2.
(10) Execute the auto white balance.
(11) Store the ND offset.
Set the setting menus as follows.
[FILE] → [REFERENCE|FILE] → [STORE|ND|OFFSET] page of the setting menu.

. Set the noted video level precisely, otherwise the deviation of the white balance of the ND filter may
change in some cases.
. If the level cannot be adjusted properly using the iris, adjust the level using the shutter/ECS or gain-up.
Calling the ND Offset
When the ND filter is changed, the ND offset will be called automatically.
Initializing the ND Offset
Set the compensation value to 0 by storing the same data for N1 to N4.
(1) Set the setting menus as follows.
[PAINT] → [VIDEO|LEVEL] → [TEST] → [VA|SAW]
(2) Execute the auto white balance with ND:1.
Execute the auto white balance with ND:2.
Execute the auto white balance with ND:3.
Execute the auto white balance with ND:4.
(3) Store the ND offset.
