5-5. Registering the Lens File
The white shading which occurs when the extender is turned on, flare balance, white balance, F value of
the open edge of the lens, name, etc. can be stored. Five files can be stored. When using several lenses,
store the adjustment data on lens replacement in the file to eliminate the need for adjustments each time
the lens is replaced. This data will be stored in the camera.
The data which can be stored are the items indicated with
means that the values stored will continue to be displayed even after they have been stored.
items which will be displayed as 0. EX ON means data which are stored when the extender is ON. EX
OFF means data which are stored when the extender is OFF. For items indicated with -, their values
cannot be changed by storing or reading.
For lens files, differential data taking the setting at factory-set as 0 will be stored. Therefore, it is neces-
sary to perform adjustments using lens normally used before creating the lens file, and to create a refer-
ence file.
Adjusting Using Normally Used Lens
(1) Mount the lens. Set the setting menus as follows.
[FILE] → [LENS|FILE] → [FILE] → [1]
(2 Set the lens file name and F value of the open edge of the lens.
(3) With the extender set to OFF, adjust white shading. Shoot the all white pattern, set the iris F4 and
zoom position to the center of the ring, and perform the adjustment around 560 mV of 80% video
level. Also adjust the flare balance and white balance shooting the gray scale.
(4) Store the data in the reference file.
(5) To store the white balance when the extender is OFF, store the data in lens file.
(6) Set the extender to ON, adjust the white shading shooting the all white pattern, and adjust the flare
balance and white balance shooting the gray scale.

As the lens file is rewritten after storing, the output of the white balance may change in some cases,
but this symptom is not an abnormal condition.
(7) Store the data in the lens file. Set the setting menus as follows.
[FILE] → [LENS|FILE] → [STORE|FILE]
(8) If the lens center deviates when the extender is switched to ON/OFF, store the center marker under
the extender is ON state. Adjust [CENTER|H|POS] and [CENTER|V|POS] at the [LENS|FILE]
page, and execute [CENTER|POS|STORE].

The center marker will not be stored when the lens file is stored.
