6 Cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization

Observe national regulations regarding preparation and hygiene!
• Disconnect the device or the mains adapter from the mains for cleaning and disinfection.
• When handling cleaning agents and disinfectants, no liquid should penetrate the device even when
sprayed on.
• Never clean the device with abrasives, disinfectants or solvents that can scratch the housing or damage
the device.
• When cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, use the procedure recommended by the hospital or use
another nationally recognized and approved procedure.
• Liquid must not penetrate the housing. The device must not be sterilized.
• Disinfectant residues must be safely removed before start up.
The operator/user is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting. It is essential that national regulations,
including restrictions, be observed.
Danger of serious physical injury due to damaged accessories!
A non-functional device and defective accessories can pose a risk to the patient or user and can impair the
intended functions of the device.
• The device and its accessories must always be kept in perfect functional condition. A visual inspection
and check for intact insulation, cleanliness and integrity must be carried out.
• An unusable device and unusable accessories must be discarded.
