Calibration

The line current detector measures the power consumption of the connected electrosurgery or laser
surgery device. The fan of the marVac
power consumption during operation. For the initial start-up, or if the parameters on the surgical device to
be monitored have been significantly altered, the quiescent power consumption of the electrosurgery or
laser surgery device must be measured:
®
• switch on marVac
.
• Switch on the connected surgical device and bring it into an operational state so that it can be activated
at any time.
• Open the
setup menu, activate the line current detection function if necessary (see section 5.2,
"Activation of the line current detection function," page 46), and switch to the Measurement menu:

If
is displayed in the Calibration menu, calibration is necessary in order to be able to use the line
current detection function. If a numerical value is displayed, it has already been calibrated. The numerical
value corresponds to the measured power consumption in mA, and a decimal point is displayed in A.
Examples
150 mA
2.10 A
If a previous calibration failed, the error code is displayed in the Calibration submenu, e.g.
additional details, see section 5.3, "Calibration," page 47.

It must be calibrated with the laser in Standby mode. The pilot laser should also be switched off. This is
done by pressing the "Pilot laser" button on the laser twice. The calibration can be started as described
above. After the calibration has been carried out successfully, the L parameter (switch-off threshold) should
be reduced to 15%. See section 5.4, "Configuration of the switch-on delay time," page 48.
