The activities associated with maintenance, performed by the operator:
- cleaning,
- blockages and jams removal,
- lubrication,
- visual inspection,
- minor damage repairing.
Cleaning and maintenance
- Cleaning and maintenance must be carried out only when the tractor engine is stopped,
or when the snow blower is disconnected.
- Snow blower should be thoroughly cleaned of impurities and the remaining snow to pre-
vent rotor and ejector channel to frost. Clean it each time after finishing the work.
- Make a detailed visual check of machine disconnected from the tractor, before a long
storage and before each use.
- Clean and paint places where the paint has worn off.
- Hydraulic hoses must be replaced in case of any damage or oil leaks but not less than
every 5 years.
- Long-term and efficient operation of snow blower is dependent on skillful handling, suffi-
cient lubrication, immediate removal of detected malfunctions and proper maintenance.
Blockages and jams removal
In case of blockages and jams, place the machine on flat ground and support it on stable
supports. Remove jams using usual tools.
Lubrication
- Snow blower lubrication can be performed when it is disconnected from the tractor or
eventually it is in the rest position or mounted on a vehicle and based on the ground. Do
not lubricate snow blower when the tractor engine is running.
- To lubricate snow blower use general application lithium grease.
- Snow blower has two lubricating points. There are grease ball nipples. Fill nipples by
manual grease gun piston. Lubricating points are located on the rotor shaft bearings -
grease them at least once a month.
Storage
- The machine should be cleaned from sand / salt and other pollutants and visual check of
individual parts and assemblies' connections shall be made, each time after finishing the
work.
- Make a detailed visual check of the machine, remove noticed faults and replace any worn
parts if necessary, at the end of the season.
- Thoroughly wash the machine with water to remove any accumulated salt (risk of corro-
sion).
- Additionally tighten the screws and nuts.
- Clean and paint places where the paint has worn off. Lubricate to displace water. Un-
painted parts should be covered with a thin layer of lime stone base grease or petroleum
jelly.
- The repairs of serious damages should be given to an authorized service centre.
- The machine should be protected from rain or snow during storage and in a way prevent-
ing an injury to people or animals.
