A PTO DRIVE SHAFT WORK
- Use the PTO drive shaft recommended by the manufacturer.
- Protective tube and protective cone of PTO drive shaft and PTO drive shaft guard must be
attached and be in good condition.
- Watch out for the PTO drive shaft guards when it is in a working and transport position.
- Mounting and dismounting of the PTO drive shaft may carried out only when the PTO
drive shaft and tractor engine are stopped and the ignition key is removed.
- Always take care of proper installing and securing PTO drive shaft.
- The PTO drive shaft guard must be protected against rotation by a chain connecting the
shaft with protection guard of PTO placed on the machinery and on the tractor.
- The PTO drive shaft on the machine side should cover the joint around the entire perime-
ter, while extending the PTO shaft guard on PTO drive shaft guard not less than 50 mm.
- Before turning the PTO drive shaft on be sure that the amount and direction of rotation of
the tractor PTO is correctly selected, according to an acceptable amount and direction of
rotation of the machine PTO.
- Before turning the PTO drive shaft on be sure that no one is within range of the machine
working area.
- Never connect the PTO drive shaft to the tractor with the engine running.
- When working with the PTO drive shaft no one is allowed to stand near the PTO drive
shaft rotating.
- Always turn the PTO drive shaft off whenever there is an obstruction or when you do not
need to work.
- Cleaning, lubrication or adjustment of the machine is possible only when the PTO drive
shaft and the tractor engine are stopped and the ignition key is removed.
- Disconnected PTO drive shaft place on the support foreseen to it.
- After removing the PTO drive shaft, attach the protective guard on the PTO shaft end.
- Repair any damages immediately before you start operating the machine.
- Warning! Cutting the PTO drive shafts is allowed only in authorized service centers.
MAINTENANCE
- All repairs, maintenance, cleaning and removals of functional failure shall be carried out
when the drive is disengaged and the tractor engine is off. Make sure that there is no
pressure in the hydraulic system, lower the machine to the ground, engage the parking
brake on the tractor and remove the ignition key before starting work.
- It is forbidden to carry out repairs underneath a raised and not secured machine against
accidental lowering of machine or its components.
- Check regularly nuts and bolts for their fixed position and tighten, if necessary.
- Use the appropriate tools and gloves during the parts replacement.
- Carefully remove the oil and grease from machine surfaces.
- Unplug the supply of electricity before any electrical or welding works and works on elec-
trical system of the tractor-machine.
- Protective devices are subject to wear and have to be regularly adjusted, controlled and
replaced at the right time.
- Spare parts must correspond at least to these specified by the manufacturer technical
requirements. These shall be such as the original spare parts.
- Replace hydraulic hoses if you notice any damage or oil leakage, and not less than every
five years. The hoses shall be marked with the date of manufacture and the maximum in-
tended pressure.
