THE RESIDUAL RISK DESCRIPTION
Although the manufacturer takes responsibility for design and construction in order to elim-
inate the danger, some elements of risk while the snow blower works cannot be avoided.
The residual risk is a result of incorrect behaviour of the machine operator. The most danger
is when you perform the following prohibited activities:
- use the machine for the purposes other than those specified in instruction manual
- stay between the snow blower and the tractor when the engine is running
- getting closer to rotating parts of the working mechanism
- working of the machine without the drive guard or with damaged guard
- using machinery by persons under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substanc-
es
- using the PTO drive shaft without guards or with damaged guards
- transporting the machine with not disengaged PTO drive
- staying on the machine while working
- cleaning the machine while working
- working with opened guards
- checking the machine condition while working elements are running
When identifying the residual risk, the snow blower is treated as a machine that until pro-
duction begun it was designed and manufactured according to the present state of art.
THE RESIDUAL RISK ASSESSMENT
When respecting the recommendations such as:
- careful reading of the instruction manual
- prohibition of placing your hands in inaccessible and not allowed places
- prohibition of reaching the lower limbs to the rotating parts
- prohibition of climbing on and staying on the machine as well as people and loads trans-
portation on the machine when machine is working or transporting
- prohibition of working machine when visibility and lighting are limited
- prohibition of snow discharge directing on bystanders
- machinery maintenance and repairing only by persons familiarized with the instruction
manual and trained in maintenance, commissioning and respecting the health and safety
regulations
- using machinery by persons who have already been trained and are familiarized with the
instruction manual
- securing the machinery against children
The residual risk can be eliminated while using the snow blower without hazards to people
and environment.
