What is the Panic Button used for?
The panic button will initiate a "silent dial" alarm call on a Reach at-home alarm unit with speech in the listen mode only.
The button can be pressed by the resident if they feel threatened or uneasy with a visitor - the control centre can listen-in to
assess the situation before taking appropriate action.
With Advent xt the panic button will report in a pre-set mode and take priority over any other call in progress - 2 way speech will
be available via the intercom the panic button is registered to. Note: this is not a "silent-dial".
With the Altec Response or Touchsafe Pro Nursecall system an "Attack/Help" alarm will be displayed.
Where should the Panic Button be fitted?
The panic button should be wall mounted in the hallway alongside the front door or anywhere it can be pressed discreetly
without drawing attention that an alarm call is being made.
Typical Tools Required
