What is the Door Exit Contact & Keyswitch used for?
The contact can be used to raise a "door exit" alarm when a door is opened.
With the keyswitch in the "NORMAL" position an alarm call will be transmitted immediately.
With the keyswitch in the "OVERRIDE" position the door can be opened without an alarm.
Where should the Keyswitch be fitted?
The keyswitch should be wall mounted internally alongside the door being monitored and should be within 3 metres cable run of
the door contact.
Typical Tools Required
Check for cables and pipes in the wall before using the drill.
Make sure the correct type drill bit and screwdrivers are used.
Fitting the Keyswitch
Undo the 2 screws and remove the lid from the
keyswitch module.
Break out the most appropriate cable entry
point in the back box.
Fix the back box to the wall with the screws & plugs
provided through the 2 fixing holes "A"
Fitting the Door Contact
Connect 2 wires to the door contact (see drawing below).
Fix the part with the wires to the door frame with
the screws provided.
Clip the wire tidily with the self adhesive clamps provided.
Fix the magnet part to the door with the screws provided.
Note: there should be no more than 10mm gap between the
two parts of the door contact when the door is closed.
The contacts must part when the door is opened.
