    6.2. Tools Menu The Tools menu contains a set of functions that allow the User to determine how the CC6000 Software program will operate. These include adding or modifying existing Users, creating or changing Pass-Fail criteria for scans, defining calibration tools, and clearing out data in the program database to make room for new data. NOTE: This menu is only available to Administrator-level or higher users.

    Save Settings Tool The Save Settings tool allows for saving the current setup (configuration) of the CC6000 Software program to a file for later use. The location and name of the file is determined by the user at time of saving. They are automatically given the extension of “.NSF”.

    7.1.3. View-in-Excel Tool The View in Excel tool allows for opening the currently-active Microsoft Excel file directly from the CC6000 Software program. The currently-active file is the one most-recently selected via the Save/ Print Settings subtab of the Scan Options control tab. This file’s contents can be viewed or edited even if Save Data to Database (also in the Save/ Print Settings subtab) is presently turned OFF.

In its top section, users can define company information and logo that appear on a scan report. In the bottom section, users can choose which stored scans and to what form of output the reports will be generated.

A progress indicator is shown while printing is taking place. Export: To save the entire set of chosen reports to a file, click the Export button in the Generate Report dialog. Users can save the reports in PDF format.

Upon completion of a measurement, the live image will also display measurement details. These details include the true size and location of the calibrated Apex Offset (indicated by the blue line from the fiber center terminating in a red circle at true offset location), and the triangle symbol marking detected location of the fringe ring centers.

    3D View Tab On the main screen of the CC6000 Software program, next to the tab labelled Live View, is a tab for the three dimensional (3D) picture of the connector endface. The 3D view is a mesh display showing the shape, fiber height, and apex offset of the scanned connector endface based on the connector’s measured values.

    Chapter 12 Appendix 12.1. Data Interpretation The CC6000 and the CC6000 Software uses Tilted Phase Data Collection. Using Tilt Phase technology, the connector is held at a constant tilted angle for measurements, which allows for fringes to cross the ferrule and fiber surfaces.

Radius of Curvature (mm) – Displays the radius of curvature (ROC) determined by the curvature of the fringes located within the fiber diameter. 2. Offset (µm) – Displays the apex offset. The apex offset is defined as the distance from the vertex (high point) of the ferrule sphere to the center of the fiber.

    12.3. Installation Problems In most cases, carrying out the instructions for the CC6000 system installation listed in its User Manual will result in smooth and automatic recognition of the CC6000 video hardware at the time it is plugged into the computer.
