If an error is reported during calibration, original values will stay recorded, which may cause
that maximal value may differ from 100 % value.
Light intensity is the quantity of light incident on reference (REF, prior to cell) or measuring
(SAM, after the cell) sensor. Value is presented in percentage and 100 % is set for maximal
intensity of new lamp. This value is spectrally dependent (see following graphs) and during light
aging it decreases. Utmost decrease is in the area of low UV. This value is used as benchmark
data about light intensity on the sensors or for cell purity diagnostics and is displayed on the
absorbance measuring screen. For example on wavelength 254 nm will be displayed: R52%
S53%. If S value is significantly lower, it denotes impurities in the cell or absorbing mobile phase.
