6.6.8. Tests

6.6.8.1. Lamp Energy
This item shows value of voltage on reference and measuring diode in volts (REF and SAM
Channel) on wavelength with maximum light. This wavelength is presented in parentheses. With
new lamp, it is set at approx. 1.2 V, during lamp aging the value decreases. When the value is
below 0.5 V, it is recommended to exchange the lamp. Significantly lower value on measuring
diode denotes impurities in cell or absorbing mobile phase.
6.6.8.2. Opto Mechanic
After entering this window is executed a test of motors moving with grating MOTOR W and
filters MOTOR F. At the same time is performed a test of their optical position sensors grating
OPTOSWITCH W a filters OPTOSWITCH W, serve for finding default position. Functionality
correctness of individual elements is marked as OK. In case of an error message please contact
service engineer and describe test results.

6.7. Service

Service menu is available in two levels, which are secured with a password. Before
entering this part, please read following chapters.
Password to service menu = press and hold ENTER for the period of 3 s!

6.7.1. Parts Replacement

6.7.1.1. Deuterium Lamp (D2)
Caution: This operation may be performed only by a qualified person. Before
starting below described procedures unplug the unit from power source by
disconnecting main supply cable. The unit may be reconnected to the
power source only after the cover is mounted back on its place.
