10. Switching on and off

Always guide the machine with both hands.
Switch on first, then guide the accessory towards
the workpiece.
The machine must not be allowed to draw in
additional dust and shavings. When switching the
machine on and off, keep it away from dust deposits.
After switching off the machine, only place it down when
the motor has come to a standstill.
In continuous operation, the machine continues
running if it is forced out of your hands. Therefore,
always hold the machine with both hands using the
handles provided, stand securely and concentrate.
Mains powered machine POLY-PTX
Torque activation (with dead man's lever):
Switching on: See page 3, figure A11.
Slide the trigger switch (A1-10) forwards and then push
the trigger switch (A1-10) upwards.
Switching off: Release the trigger switch (A1-10).
Continuous operation:
Switching on: See page 3, figure A12.
Switch the machine on as described above. Now slide
the trigger switch (A1-10) forwards again and release
in the front position to lock the trigger switch (A1-10)
(continuous operation).
Switching off: Push the trigger switch (A1-10) upwards
and release.
Cordless machine POLY-PTX
Switching on: See page 5, figure B10.
Push the sliding switch (B1-7) forwards. For continuous
operation, now tilt it downwards until it engages.
Switching off: Press the rear end of the slide switch
(B1-7) and release it.

11. Attaching the tools, working notes

11.1 Attaching tools mains powered machines:
Press in the spindle locking button (A2-2) only
when the spindle is stationary!
See page 3, figure A8.
1. Press in spindle locking button (A2-2) and hold in
place.
2. Slide the tool onto the spindle (A1-7).
3. Tighten the insert tool fixing screw (A1-6).
If the tools used are shorter than the tensioning
spindle, insert the relevant distance rings (A2-3)
or use the separately available Eco Smart adapter
(see 8.1). This is the only way to properly secure the tool.
11.2 Attaching tools cordless machines:
See page 5, figure B11, B12 and B13.
1. Slide the tool onto the spindle (B1-5).
2. Tighten the insert tool fixing screw (B1-4).
If the tools used are shorter than the tensioning
spindle, insert the relevant distance rings (B2-4)
or use the separately available Eco Smart adapter
(see 8.1). This is the only way to properly secure the tool.
11.3 Working directions:
Sanding, polishing, working with wire brushes:
Apply moderate pressure on the machine and move it to
and fro across the surface.
