cYLINDER VALVE mAINtENANcE
PRocEDuRES
NOTE: Before performing any reassembly, it is important to in-
spect all parts, both new and those that are being reused, to
ensure that every part and component is perfectly clean and
free of any dust, corrosion or blemishes. Before dressing each
o-ring with Christo-Lube
and free of any blemish.

use only genuine Aqua Lung
subassemblies and components whenever assem-
bling any Aqua Lung
substitute an Aqua Lung
facturer's, regardless of any similarity in shape, size
or appearance. Doing so may render the product un-
safe and could result in serious injury or death.
Valve Assembly
1. Lubricate the o-ring (49) and install it into the groove of the
spindle (50). Next, install the lubricated washer (48) back on to the
spindle (50).
2. Lubricate the threads and screw the valve seat (52) into the body
(55) using the oldham (51) and spindle (50). Insert the handwheel
(44) over the tip of the spindle, this will ensure that the valve seat
(52) is properly seated. After the valve seat has been tightened,
remove the handwheel, leaving the spindle and oldham in place.

3. Lubricate the o-ring (47) and install it on to the valve plug (46).
Screw the valve plug (46) back in to the body (55) until hand tight.
Using a Newton Meter torque wrench and a 22mm (7/8 inch) sock-
et (pn 769354), tighten the valve plug to 15 Nm (133 in.lbs). Ensure
the o-ring (47) is seated inside the body (55).

4. Install the washer (45) over the tip of the spindle (50) followed
by the handwheel (44).
5. Place the spring (43) over the tip of the spindle (50) so that it is
resting on top of the handwheel (44). Install the handwheel nut (42)
onto the spindle (50), start threading it by hand, then tighten the
rest of the way with the modified screwdriver (pn 941586). It should
be tightened down until the spindle (50) is even with the top of the
handwheel nut (42).
cAutIoN: If any resistance is felt while threading
handwheel nut onto spindle, stop and start over. En-
sure that cross threading is not occurring.
