DRIVE SYSTEM

AUTOMATIC ELECTRONIC BRAKING
• Drive system features regenerative braking.
Electronic controller uses motor to slow down
machine in both forward and reverse directions.
To slow down machine, reduce throttle input, or
release throttle lever, and machine will brake to
a stop.
• While driving downhill, this feature allows direct
control over speed of machine, as long as
load on machine does not exceed design
parameters. In addition, drive system is equipped
with an electromechanical park brake, which is
automatically engaged when throttle input is zero.
This locks machine in place until there is throttle
input from the operator, or operator manually
overrides it in manual mode.
MANUAL MODE (FREE WHEELING)
• Drive system is equipped with a brake lever that
overrides the electromechanical brake for manually
pushing hand truck. This option should only be used
if batteries are too low to drive the system or if drive
system becomes inoperable. To disengage brake,
push lever down until it clicks into disengaged
position. (See Figure 9)

• With brake in disengaged position, On/Off switch
must be turned off or drive system will not move
freely. Controller will not operate motor when brake
is disengaged. This is a safety lock-out that prevents
operation of the machine when electromechanical
brake on transaxle has been manually released.
NOTE: A safety feature called "push too fast"
helps prevent a run-away situation if operator
forgets to re-engage the brake. "Push too fast"
will agressively slow down machine if it begins
to move too quickly with brake released and
power switch off.
REVERSE OPERATION
• While operating hand truck in reverse, do not stand
behind unit driving it toward you while looking over
your shoulder. The proper way to operate unit in
reverse is to stand beside it. (See Figure 10)
Correct
STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
• Hand truck can be stored in any position since
batteries are sealed and there are no fluids to
leak out. Most common (and suggested) storage
orientation is unloaded (empty) sitting on its three
wheels and placed on charge. Leaving hand
truck loaded for an extended period of time is not
suggested.
• Most common orientation for transporting hand
truck onboard a truck is in vertical orientation while
secured to truck before any transportation takes
place.
