FITTING THE INSERT INTO THE FIREPLACE
Move the hearth insert up to the fireplace. Pass the mains supply
cable (depending on model) through the hole prepared in the
fireplace. Make sure that the looped mains cable, inside the
fireplace, allows the hearth insert to be moved easily (insertion
and removal for maintenance).
If an air connection is provided, connect the air supply line to the
combustion air collar.
Make sure that the mains cable is not trapped under the
appliance. Adjust the 4 levelling screws and fit the insert into
position.

BAFFLE PLATE

The hearth is fitted with a stainless steel and vermiculite
baffle. This baffle enables efficient heat exchange and helps
soot to be collected when the chimney is swept.
Users should familiarise themselves with how to fit and remove
the baffle plate. Do this several times before using the fireplace
for the first time.
1. Swivel the two holding catches in towards the hearth.
2. Lower the rear part of the baffle.
3. Take the baffle out of the hearth.
4. Fit the baffle back into the hearth.
5. Use the holding catches to lock the baffle to the hearth.

CONNECTING THE FLUE PIPE

Remove the baffle. On the inside of the insert, connect the collar
on the appliance to the flue pipe. Reattach the baffle to the
hearth.
FILLING IN THE GAPS AROUND THE INSERT
The space between the fireplace opening and the hearth may be
blocked. To protect the hearth, remove the door and frame.
Depending on the style and type of stone, the space can be
closed by using stones or firebricks between the hearth
insert and the fireplace,
with prefabricated refractory materials and then
sealed on site,
or with refractory panels (M0 class) cut to size. Use ready-to-
use refractory mortar or 2/3 sand and 1/3 refractory cement
for the brick work.
After filling in the gaps around the insert, refit the frame and put
the door back on the hearth.
CAUTION. When installing an insert, distribution of hot
air through ducts is prohibited. Do not take the caps off
the casing cover.
