Maintenance schedule

MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE D12-AUX GENSET
Daily before first start
General inspection engine and engine room
Check air filter indicator
Check lubrication oil level
Check coolant level
Check fuel oil level
Check/clean radiator (externally)
Check/drain fuel pre-filter/water separator ............................................. (refer to note 1)
Drain water from fuel tank
Drain fuel filter
Daily operation records
Weekly
Check starting batteries; electrolyte level/load
Check electrical system for loose terminals/contacts
Check foundation bolts
Check lubrication oil for abnormal smell or waterdilution
Check settings of valves and operate valves to keep them movable
Every 50-500 operating hours or every 12 months
Change lubrication oil ............................................................................ (refer to note 3)
Change lubrication oil filters/by-pass filter .............................................. (refer to note 4)
Every 500 operating hours or every 12 months
Change crankcase breather filter (If applicable)
Check/adjust drive belts
Check/change seawater pump impeller
Check/change zinc anodes
Topping up coolant (corrosion protection mixture) ................................. (refer to note 5)

Check the manometer and change filter if necessary.
2)
To be carried out at an authorized Volvo Penta workshop.
3)
Oil change intervals vary, depending on oil grade and sulphur content of the fuel. Refer to chapter "Tech-
nical Data Lubrication oil specification"
4)
Change oil filters every time the oil is changed.
5)
Top up with ½ litre corrosion protection fluid. IMPORTANT! This only applies if the
cooling system is filled with a corrosion protection mixture (not a glycol mixture).
6)
Not at the same time as coolant change
