ESCRIPTION
The Total Access 5000 Optical Line Terminal (OLT) 2.5G/1.25G,
Class C++ Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) is specifically
designed for Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) applica-
tions. It facilitates high performance, integrated, bidirectional data
transmission over one, single mode optical fiber.
The 2.5G/1.25G, Class C++ GPON OLT can be used with the
SDX OLTs and Total Access 5000 OLT solutions that support
GPON.
The SFP incorporates a 1490 nm, DFB laser diode for streaming
2.488 Gbps downstream data and an APD/TIA burst mode
receiver for 1310 nm,1.244 Gbps, upstream data.
It is FDA 21 CFR 1040.10 and 1040.11, and IEC 60825-1 Class I
laser safety compliant and meets the EU RoHS Directive.

CAUTION!
Due to compliance certification requirements, only SFPs supplied
by ADTRAN are to be used with the host module. ADTRAN
cannot certify system integrity with other SFPs.

NSTALLATION
Before installation, inspect the SFP. If damage has occurred
during shipping, file a claim with the carrier and then contact
ADTRAN Customer Support. For more information, refer to the
warranty.
Changes or modification not expressly approved by ADTRAN will
void the warranty.
Installation Steps
To install the SFP, complete the following steps:
g
Do not remove the protective dust covers from the SFP until the
fiber optic cable is ready to be connected.
1. Insert the SFP into the SFP cage on the equipment or
device with the latch handle facing upward.
2. Slide the SFP all the way into the cage until there is an
audible "click."
g
■
Orientation of the SFP will vary depending on the equipment.
■
The latch on the SFP is for removal only. When removing the
SFP, rotate the latch away from the SFP. It should easily slide
out of the cage.
w
Do not remove the protective dust cover until the optical fiber
connection is made. Ensure that you keep the protective dust
cover on whenever the transceiver optical fiber connector is not
inserted.
3. Continue the installation and turn-up of the host device or
equipment using the instructions in the Job Aid or Quick
Start provided with the equipment or device or other system-
level documentation available online at www.adtran.com.
