Fault Symptom Codes and Error Recovery Procedure Numbers

Use Figure 17 to resolve error messages that appear on the LCD of the 7208 Tape Drive Model 342:

1. Determine the fault symptom code (FSC) in the error message (the first two digits in the message). For example, in error message

ERR 1: AD 58 C0, the FSC is AD.

2. Locate the FSC in Figure 17 and identify the error recovery procedure (ERP) number for that FSC.

3. Locate the ERP number in Figure 18 in topic C.0, and identify the recommended error recovery procedure.
