PUMP ASSEMBLY

Follow the procedure below and refer to the Exploded View Drawing on page 27.
5.4.1

Pump Cartridge Assembly

A Pump Cartridge is a complete mag-drive pump less the outer magnet and pedestal. A cartridge replacement is a
convenient way to quickly replace a pump that requires maintenance. Pump cartridges are available from the factory and
are designated by placing a

Assembly of Gear-Shafts:

NOTE:
Steps 1
and
2
are not applicable if the gear-shaft components were
supplied as part of a Liquiflo Repair Kit. (See chart on following page for repair kit
components and Appendix 2 for additional parts information.)

Assemble the drive gear (4) to the drive shaft (2) using one gear
key (13) and one gear retaining ring (5) for Models P1-P4 or
two gear retaining rings (5) for Models P5-P9.

Assemble the idler gear (3) to the idler shaft (1) using one gear
key (13) and two gear retaining rings (5).
Caution!
Do not reuse Retaining Rings.
NOTE: The Poly-Guard Series pumps use elastomer
O-rings for the retaining rings and plastic keys which
match the material of the gears.
