QUICK START GUIDE

Turning system ON

1. Press the power button on the side of the Amersham™
ImageQuant™ instrument
2. Press the power button on the mini PC attached to the rear
of the system

Starting imaging process

1. After system initialization, enter password and click Login
2. Confirm CCD status on the bottom left corner of the screen
is green
3. Choose detection method from the Home screen to begin
• Options: Chemiluminescence, Colorimetric, and
Fluorescence
Utilities
Scheduler
• is a booking tool to reserve the imager for a
specific date and time
Image library
• allows access to the default save location
where images are stored with options to view, copy/move, or
delete images
Settings
• Use to view, set, and change system settings,
if needed
Using the chemiluminescence
imaging mode
1. Under Select Exposure, choose settings (or choose Open
method if you have saved a method previously)
• Auto: Sets exposure time automatically for the entire
blot based on highest pixel intensity. There is an option to
choose Pre-capture to select an area of interest, which
calculates optimal exposure time for the selected area.
• Manual: Enter exposure time manually
• Time series: Perform a series of exposures (maximum of
50). Signal is cumulated for each image if Cumulative is ON.
Toggle Cumulative OFF if summed images are not needed.
2. Click Start to begin imaging
Note Use the black tray with white insert if using for colorimetric marker.
detection is available in both upper and lower tray positions.
