    • high speed • modularity • mobility The FARO Laser Scanner Photon works by sending an infrared laser beam into the center of a rotating mirror. This deflects the laser on a vertical rotation around the environment being scanned; scattered light from surrounding objects is then reflected back into the scanner.
  • Page 6 Once a scan has been made, the user can easily navigate a 3D view where the entire scan data can be inspected and analyzed. A list of possible applications can be found on the FARO webpage http://www.faro.com.

    This product should be operated only from the power source supplied or recommended by FARO. Please ensure that the specifications of the AC converter are met by your line voltage. If you do not know the power line voltage in your area, please ask your local power company.

You can specify the naming convention and folders for saving the scans.   • Page 33 6.3.1.7 Prepaid Account (Only applicable for prepaid scanners) If you connect to a prepaid FARO Laser Scanner, the SCENE Record software will allow you to check and to recharge your prepaid account. The scanner will only perform a scan, if there are still scans available on your prepaid account.

    SCENE Record Mobile offers a web interface to control the scanner. In combination with Wi-Fi and a PDA or the iPod Touch, this is a very comfortable way to operate the FARO Laser Scanner Photon. Please note that old scanners need a special software upgrade for SCENE Record Mobile.

    8.1.3 Setting up the Wi-Fi connection with the iPod Touch The following pages will show you how to set up the iPod Touch in order to connect to the FARO Laser Scanner via Wi-Fi. 8.1.3.1 Updating the iPod to the latest firmware version First of all, please make sure that the iPod Touch has the latest firmware installed.

Try to connect with another Internet browser. There are plenty of them in the iTunes App Store. We recommend to use an Internet browser called “VanillaSurf”.
