Loosen the alternator mounting pivot bolt
and the alternator bracket tensioner bolt.

Pivot the alternator as shown to relax and
remove belt.

Reverse the procedure to install the belt:
a.
Adjust and check the belt tension by refer-
ring to CHECKING/SERVICING the Alter-
nator Belt Tension in this section.
b.
Reinstall the flex coupling center section
and rubber iso mounts.

REPLACING/REPAIRING
NOTES:
Inspect the rubber iso mounts (P/N 2351-1) for
cracking or signs of deterioration and replace as
needed. Good preventative maintenance would
recommend replacing the rubber mounts at the
same time as the alternator belt.
When installing the bolts into the rubber iso
mounts, make sure the flat washer and star lock
washer are in place on each bolt.
Use Loctite 242 (Blue) Threadlocker compound
(or equivalent) on each bolt.
Install all twelve (12) of the rubber iso mount bolts
and tighten only finger tight before tightening any
bolts with a wrench.
Torque bolts to 22 ft-lb (30 N

Reinstall the flex coupler guard.
