8.1.5 Check the precision of the digital dispenser
This operation can be used to measure the digital dispenser accuracy.
To get an accurate dispensing the tubing must be primed. (8.1.5)
Remove the dispensing tube (see figure) from the collector to dispense into a
calibrated burette.
From «TEST» menu, select «1ml» and press «ENTER».
The dispensed volume must be 0.97ml and 1.03ml.
Note: This operation can be done in a more accurate way by using a scale.
After operation, place the dispensing tube into the collector. Check visually, across
the collector window, that the tube is properly inserted.
8.1.6 Checking distillation «Cleaning»
This operation is often used when working with the PRO-NITRO «A» because it
performs a cleaning of the distillation glassware. It is also used for unit warm-up.
Place a MACRO sample tube with near 25ml of distilled water.
From the «TEST» menu, select «Dest», press «ENTER», this starts the steam pro-
duction and the coolant water circulation. This is the distillation.
After the warming-up, the distillation rate will be between 30 - 40 ml / minute.
Left 5 minutes distilling and then press «ESC» to stop distillation.
After this operation, the collector must be emptied. See 8.1.9
Run this operation when the distillation circuit need to be cleaned.
Run this operation for warming-up the unit before a batch analysis or after more
than 2 hours of inactivity.
8.1.7 Checking sample tube empty function.
Place a MACRO sample tube with around 100ml distilled water.
From «TEST» menu select «E.Samp», press «ENTER». This starts the pump to
empty the sample tube to the waste output.
8.1.8 Checking collector empty function.
This operation is used together with 8.1.7 for cleaning purposes of the equipment.
After 5 minutes of water distilling (See, 8.1.7) the collector will collect around
100ml of water.
From «TEST» menu, select «E.col», press «ENTER». This start the pump to empty
the collector to waste output.
