Safety thermostat
CAUTION
Wear Anti-acid,

5.2 Alarms

In order to avoid dangerous situations or to protect the analyser life, some alarm
systems are provided on the unit:
«Steam» alarm
It indicates that a low level of water was detected on the steam generator for a
long time. The microprocessor stops the distillation.
Probably the water reservoir is empty or the water does not have the suitable
conductivity.
«Tube/Door» alarm
Safety door not closed or sample tube is not inserted.
This alarm blocks the distillation and the NaOH adding.
«Overtemp» alarm
An excess temperature on the steam generator has switched the safety thermo-
stat.
Block the distillation function.
Once switched, it must be left to get cool for some minutes. Solve the root problem
that causes the switching and reset the safety thermostat by pushing the central
button. The safety thermostat is located on the electrical box, on the right hand
side. A cover must be removed.
The safety thermostat switching is due to low level of water on the steam genera-
tor, probably because the water reservoir is empty or water pump malfunctions.
«Overfill» alarm
Overfill of distilled on the collector.
Blocks the distillation function.
From the menu «TEST» select «E. col» to empty the collector.
«Low / High signal level» alarm
The initial colour of the ammonia fixative solution present on the collector is
wrong. Probably there were some residuals from previous sample not neutralized.
Abort the analysis (press «ESC») and proceed with the cleaning operation.

5.3 Insert/ Remove the sample tube

• Open the safety door.
• Insert the tube starting to introduce the PTFE tube.
• Push down the fixing lever.
• Close the safety door.
Proceed similar to remove the sample tube.
