    12/2020 Pag.: 7 3 Introducción El equipo PRO-NITRO A es un destilador por arrastre de vapor que incluye un valo- rador colorimétrico, diseñado, principalmente, para la determinación del nitrógeno orgánico por el método directo de Kjeldahl. Esta automatización del proceso de análisis proporciona resultados más rápidos, precisos y fiables.

El PRO-NITRO «A» dispone de una salida serie RS-232 para conexión a impresora o a un ordenador. Esta última opción permite el almacenamiento de resultados y la elaboración de informes de análisis de lotes de muestras en un ordenador provisto del sistema operativo WINDOWS 95 o superior.

Nota: antes de empezar el análisis de muestras valiosas, practicar con las opera- ciones descritas en 8.1, 8.2 y 8.4 hasta obtener buenos resultados y estar comple- tamente familiarizado con el equipo.

Estas sustancias son muy agresivas y pueden deteriorar algunas de las piezas del equipo. Para evitar la corrosión del equipo es necesaria una limpieza adecuada. IMPORTANTE Leer la instrucción de mantenimiento preventivo al final de este Manual de instrucciones.

This highest automation degree assures more reliable and robust results. It is very easy to use but its operation must be perfectly known in order to get good results and avoid losing valuable samples.

Keep the pack for some days after receiving it. 4.1 Suitable location Place the unit over a flat level and stable surface, suitable for the unit weight.

Before starting to analyse valuable samples do some training sessions running the operations related on the chapter 8, until the operator will be familiar with the unit.

Run this warm-up operation, also, if the unit is 2 or 3 hours without distillation. This procedure is also used for cleaning the distillation circuit.

This process is known as Operation Qualification. There are four basics checking to do: 8.1 Functional checking Run this checking after the installation and also for some maintenance.

To get an accurate dispensing the tubing must be primed. (8.1.5) Remove the dispensing tube (see figure) from the collector to dispense into a calibrated burette.

    INSTRUCTION MANUAL CODE 80189 REV E 12/2020 Page: 56 8.4 Checking Nitrogen recovery with Acetanilide This test is widely used to certify the whole Kjeldahl analysis process, including the digestion, distillation and titration steps. It consists on preparing some samples that have a known Nitrogen content. The samples are digested, distilled, titrated and the nitrogen detected is calculated.

These substances are very aggressive and will degrade some parts of the unit. To avoid derating and increase distiller’s life a suitable cleaning routine should be done.
