Nailing Brackets – Standard Install
The fireplace has three (3) nailing brackets on each side. In the "standard" position, the brackets are
flush with the front edge of the fireplace (see illustration below). This allows for the facing
underlayment (such as HardieBacker® cement board other non-combustible) to cover the front of the
fireplace and butt up to the drywall (see "Facing Requirements" for details). This style of installation
should be used for tile and cultured stone finishes. Once the fireplace is properly placed, secure the
fireplace to the framing (see illustration below).
NOTE: Make sure the fireplace is square and plumb when placed in the framing. Measured corner-
to-corner the fireplace should be square. Use shims to ensure the fireplace is square.
