Packing List

Left and Right Side Fireback panels (each side fireback has a small notch at the front of the upper edge)
(4) Front and back - side panel spacers (marked with 1 hole on each end).
(4) Top and bottom - side panel spacers (marked with 2 holes on each end).
(2) Top and Bottom - rear panel spacers (marked with 3 holes on each end).
Rear shelf bracket (rear fireback rests on this bracket)

Installation

WARNING
Turn off gas to the appliance and make sure it is cool prior to conducting service.

Preparing the Fireplace

1. The firebacks should be installed while
finalizing the installation (before
installing the logs). Remove the glass
frame.
2. Use a 1/4" nut driver to remove the (8)
fireback clips inside the firebox. These
clips have keyhole slots that allow them
to be removed without removing the
screws (see illustration to the right).
3. Discard the (2) rear side clips and
tighten the screws to seal the holes in
the firebox.

  • Page 2 4237 EG Black Glass Fireback Installation sku# 96100881 4. Use a 1/4” nut driver to remove the three screws from the back wall of the firebox. 5. Insert the support bracket between the rear wall of the firebox and log shelf assembly.
  • Page 3 4237 EG Black Glass Fireback Installation sku# 96100881 Preparing the Fireback Panels 7. Prepare the (10) spacers by bending the tabs (2 per clip) up approximately 90° (see below). 8. Install the (4) spacers (2 with 1 hole on the front and back and 2 with 2 holes on top and bottom) on each side piece of glass and (2) spacers (each with 3 holes) on the rear fireback, top, and bottom.

Carefully set the bottom of the fireback on the shelf bracket installed in step #5. Once the entire fireback is resting on the shelf bracket, tilt the fireback parallel to the back of the firebox and center it side to side.
