Fireplace Placement Requirements

Fireplace must be installed on a level surface capable of supporting the fireplace and vent
Fireplace must be placed directly on wood or non-combustible surface (not on linoleum or carpet)
Fireplace should be located out of traffic and away from furniture and draperies.
Fireplace may be placed in a bedroom (be aware of the large amount of heat from this fireplace).

Clearances

(a) Clearance to Sides of Fireplace: 5/8" (16mm) – 0" to standoffs – see "e" below for exception
(b) Clearance to Adjacent Walls in Front of Fireplace: 0"
(c) Clearance to Back of Fireplace: 5/8" (16mm) – 0" to standoffs
(d) Clearance to Bottom of Fireplace: 0" (may be placed directly on subfloor)
(e) Drywall (or other combustibles) may contact the front 1/2" (13mm) of the fireplace along the top and sides
(f) The base of the fireplace must be a minimum 61" (1550mm) below the room ceiling

Raised Fireplaces

The fireplace (and hearth, if desired) may be placed on a platform designed to support the fireplace
and vent.
The base of the fireplace must be a minimum 61" (1550mm) below the room ceiling.
The firebox opening is 1" (26mm) above the base of the fireplace. For a typical raised fireplace of
10" (254mm), place the fireplace on a platform 9" (229mm) tall.
