3.16 PARKING THE EXCAVATOR

Precaution

If the machine is in remote and must be shut down for an extended period of time,
return the machine to conventional undercarriage operation.
Avoid parking on roads or highways. If it cannot be avoided, or in case of emergency,
display warning flags, flares or flashing lights.

Parking Procedure

1. Perform "Travel Mode Engine Shutdown" on page 3-14 or "Remote Mode
Engine Shutdown" on page 3-33.
2. Fill fuel tank to minimize condensation.
ATTENTION!
shutting off engine before disconnecting battery. Failure to do so can cause
severe damage to the engine after-treatment system.
3. Disconnect battery.
4. Lock all doors and covers and install protective window covers if available.
