To replace the chart, lift the drum upwards off its axle. Make the diagram clamping rail jump out of its slit by
pressing from below. Put a new chart around the drum so both ends are where the clamp rail will be. Press
the clamp rail into the slit on the upper rim of the drum. Ensure the bottom of the chart is in line with the
lower rim of the drum. Replace the drum on its axle.
Remove the protective cap from the fibre pen tip. Set the pen on the end of the writing lever by moving the
disconnecting bar inwards. Adjust the starting point to the correct place on the chart. If the pen does not
write immediately, tap it slightly until it reaches.
3 MAINTENANCE/STORAGE
You own one of the finest instruments in the world. If looked after, it will last a lifetime.

The instrument should be returned to the factory for repair.

The calibration can be adjusted after precise comparative measurements using the zero-point
correction screw.

The cover is made of plexiglas. Clean with a damp cloth with a mild washing-up liquid only.
For checks and certification contact Elcometer or your Elcometer supplier. Your gauge does not contain any
user-serviceable components. In the unlikely event of a fault, the gauge should be returned to your
Elcometer supplier or directly to Elcometer. The warranty will be invalidated if the instrument has been
opened.
