Blanking
Blanking sets the zero value for the test and is required on most
occasions a test is carried out. Blanking is slightly different depending
upon whether the test format is a tablet test or liquid Tubetest.

Use a photometer tube with
10 mL of the water being
tested without any reagent
tablets added.
Place this in the cell holder

Place an unused tube in the cell
holder fitted with the Tubetest
Adapter.
Alternatively, if the water being
tested is strongly coloured

or cloudy, a blank can be

prepared by adding the correct
volume of sample to a tubetest
and using it as the blank
before any Nessler reagent or
Indophenol Tablet is added.
