3.7 Removable Front Panel

3.7.1 Description
The EPAC300-M50 includes an optional removable Front Panel for data entry and
display, which may be deleted for cost savings. The Front Panel Display contains
8 lines of 40 characters, while the key board contains 28 poly-dome sealed keys.
The Front Panel contains a stowed cable that may be extracted for hand held
operation. Simply pull the front panel forward from its mounting clip, unwind the
cable and plug the 9-pin "D" connector into the exposed C60 connector on the
front of the EPAC.

cable you are using. If the cable is too long, the Front Panel will automatically
RESET. Additional mounting clips are available to allow the Front Panel to be
snapped to a remote mounting location. The Front Panel may be deleted for cost
savings. In this case, one Front Panel may be carried by service personnel,
instead of incurring the expense of adding one Front Panel per controller.

3.7.2 Contrast Adjustment

The Front Panel contrast is set by first pressing the "STAR" key (in the center of
the arrow keys, then successively pressing the "+" key (more contrast), or by
successively pressing the "-" key (less contrast). After proper contrast is reached,
press the "STAR" key to return the "+" and "-" keys to normal operation. These
keys are marked on the Front Panel with the standard icon for display contrast
(sunbeam). The contrast may require adjustment when viewing from a different
angle (kneeling down instead of standing), or due to temperature changes.
