  • Page 16: Compatibility With Legacy Geonet Products

GeoNet uses network technology that is self-configuring and self-healing. If all nodes are in range of the supervisor, then data from the nodes is sent directly from the nodes to the supervisor (a star topology). 6 | INTRODUCTION | GEOKON...
  • Page 17: Figure 8: Cluster Tree Network Topology

If direct communication is not possible for some nodes, then other nodes will automatically relay their data to the supervisor. This effectively creates a cluster tree topology. The figure below illustrates this concept. 1 Hop 1 Hop S = Supervisor Cell N = Node (1, 4, 8, ADR) Ethernet...

Press the Reset button. FIGURE 17: Reset Button Devices will communicate only with others that have been set to the same channel. To prevent erratic behavior, there can be only one supervisor on a particular channel. Supervisors in radio range of each other must operate using different channel settings.

  • Page 27 provide timely feedback to the user, the network parameters are set to a 10- second radio interval while the supervisor is in Deployment mode. When the Status button is pressed on a node, the current status of the radio signal will be displayed briefly by the LEDs. The node will then indicate the status of the radio signal after each radio transmission for a period of 10- minutes.
